A Parent's Nightmare

I am in shock as I write this. A 14 year old family friend was shot yesterday in the head by a friend playing with a gun. We have known this boy since he was a baby. His dad was my nineteen year old's daughter's t-ball coach. You always hear of this happening, but to someone you know. He is brain dead and the parents have to make the hardest decision of their life. I can't even imagine what they are going through.
My youngest is 9 and into everything, I can totally see him messing with something like that. No matter how many times you tell them to leave something alone, they do it anyway! He just got caught setting stuff on fire last week, when he knows not to do it.
I just pray for his family to make it through this together.

What a horrible thing to happen! Why don't parents keep their guns unloaded and the bullets separate?

A terrible loss and waste! My heart goes out to all the families and friends involved!
