Still here

It has been so long since I posted anything. Life has really changed for me. I separated from my husband after 21 years. Reunited with my first love and have been together almost three years. I moved from Virginia to North Carolina. And I am loving the country life. R got me six chicks in April and now we have have 9 hens and 2 roosters. Chicken math. lol My youngest daughter has a daughter who is now 3 and a son who is 1. The only child living me with now is P and he isn't happy about it. He really misses his friends. But it is a much better environment here then it was in Portsmouth. The people are much nicer and alot less crime. Not sure if I am anyone is still around or if I am talking to myself. But I look forward to posting more and browsing the blogs.

It Has Been So Long

I am still alive. It has been so long since I posted anything. This has been an hectic year. Lots of change. I separated from my husband after 22 years of marriage. It was a hard decision but I am so much happier. I had part of my stomach removed in April due to a growth (that turned out to be nothing) so I have lost alot of weight. I feel so much healthier and better. For the past ten years or so, I have felt like I had a huge black cloud over me and was so unhappy. Times are tough, but I feel like a new person. My 17 year daughter had a baby in April. That wasn't an easy situation but the baby is the sweetest girl every. I love her to death. My daughter had a rough time adjusting to being a mother but she is a good mommy. I am still watching my other two grandkids during the day while my other daughter works all the time so I am very busy.

It is time to get ready for the Railroad Festival. It is hard to afford the things I need this year so I am going to concentrate on tarts and not candles. Now that I have a car and not a SUV, I don't have the space to transport them. I love candles, but it seems the tarts sell better. I rarely sell any dolls there, but I am still making them. I am going to get my website going if it is the last thing I do. lol I say that all the time and still haven't done it, but I hope to make a business of it. I also hope to do some local craft shows in the fall.

I hope everyone is doing good and haven't abandoned me. The blogs seem to be really quiet lately.

Sewing Time

This is what I have been working on. Getting things made for the Railroad Festival. I think I will add them to my website also. I am making prairie dolls using a pattern from Sweet Meadow Farms. I love here patterns. Just ordered another one to make with cats and pumpkins. I can't wait to do that one. Below is some finished stumpy prairie dolls that I made. I am working on the ones with legs now. Love how they turned out.

The Day Off!

This is what keeps me so busy. I watch my grandbabies Monday-Saturday. They are a handful. The baby is 9 months old and into everything. She discovered the piano yesterday and now will not leave it alone. Lots of  noise. lol Her brother is almost 4. Sadly, he did not get into Pre-K in September. I will try to work with him here. There is a 100 kid waiting list in their city, so that will not be happening. And his dad is a deadbeat so my daughter can't afford to put him in a paid Pre-K. In a way, I am glad I get to spend another year with him every day.

Today is my day off from watching the kids. Doesn't seem to happen often these days. Love them to death, but love to have time to myself. So I think I will get crafting!

Prayers for Colorado and Idiots

My son has been looking so forward to seeing the new Batman and now I am just dreading it. It is so sad what happened in Colorado. I don't understand such evil. Just reminds you how precious life is. Sometimes I feel like I am going through the motions. That is sad when you think, it can all end tomorrow. The families and victims are in my prayers and thoughts.

Now to the idiots. You may have read this store on Yahoo http://news.yahoo.com/couple-colo-theater-shooting-escape-baby-toddler-tow-162024554--abc-news-topstories.html. First of all, they take small children to the movie theater at midnight. Then the chicken dad drops his four month old on the floor and jumps off the balcony, runs from the theater and drives away! With his fiancee, her daughter, and the baby in the theater that the shooting occured. He left them there!  And he admits it in the media. What a moron! Hope she has a brain and dumps him!

Another Hot One

It will be another hot day of about 100 degrees today. My son has another all star game(hopefully not his last). His game on Monday was so embarrassing and bad. They lost 20-0. The team did not play good at all. I hope today will be better. We went to the movies yesterday and saw "The Amazing Spiderman." It was my favorite Spiderman movie yet. Not just a bunch of action, it actually had a plot. Alot of those movies are just loud. Saw the preview for "The Dark Knight Rises" and it looks awesome. Yes, you can tell I have a son who loves action movies. It is one way to stay cool. Going to try and get some crafting done this weekend. I am in a crafting slump. So many things I want to make but can't bring myself to even start. Once I get started, I know I will be fine. Stay cool!
