A Parent's Nightmare

I am in shock as I write this. A 14 year old family friend was shot yesterday in the head by a friend playing with a gun. We have known this boy since he was a baby. His dad was my nineteen year old's daughter's t-ball coach. You always hear of this happening, but to someone you know. He is brain dead and the parents have to make the hardest decision of their life. I can't even imagine what they are going through.
My youngest is 9 and into everything, I can totally see him messing with something like that. No matter how many times you tell them to leave something alone, they do it anyway! He just got caught setting stuff on fire last week, when he knows not to do it.
I just pray for his family to make it through this together.

Where has the time gone??

I can't believe it is already Wednesday! We have been so busy with ball season. I spend my days cleaning and crafting. Then it is ball practices. Tonight I finally got a break. Hubby is there with our youngest. It is nice to have a break, maybe I can finish up some things I started. I made a cupcake pincushion yesterday for the first time. I am awful about paying attention to directions, so I made up my own way. lol It turned out pretty good, except for the burnt fingers from the glue gun.

Favorite Things Blog Swap

I have become such a swap junkie. lol There is a new swap going on at Country Girl, City Life. I have joined one favorite swap before and loved sharing my faves. Check it out and give it a try.

I'm Fat!

That is what my 13 year daughter keeps saying. I have always worried about her weight because she would sneak goodies in her room and eat them. She wasn't fat, but she wasn't skinny. I figured she would grow out of it. I never said anything about it. But in the past week, she looks slimmer to me and I am a little concerned. I struggled with an eating disorder until I was almost 30 and do not want her to go down that road. But she seems to be eating and not getting sick. Maybe I am just paranoid. Maybe she is just growing. She is my height now 5'2. I hope she gets taller than her sister and I. My oldest daughter is the same height I am. lol Not very tall. I really dread the teenage years. Her sister was no angel, but I really didn't have many problems with her. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Mondays, Yuck!

I am so dragging this morning. The time change has me all messed up. Nothing much has been going on here. Had to take my youngest to the dentist Friday and spent $200! The dentist is so expensive! I should have made that my career. Spent the weekend making candles for a swap that I am in. Waiting for the mailman to pick it up. I love flat rate boxes. It would be expensive to mail without them! Went to Lara's Sage Grove and drooled over her new goodies. Guess I need to get moving and do some cleaning. I really want a nap!
