So it has been awhile since I posted. I have been busy watching the kids. I have been working on some Valentine swaps. Had to get busy crafting again to save my sanity. It is almost baseball time again and I will be really crazy. lol Trying to start working on things now for the RR festival so it isn't so last minute. I need to order some wax to make some candles. I have my candles marked for clearance $5 each plus shipping for jelly jar candles. I want to change my labels and jars so I am trying to sell these. I have been seriously slacking on blogging. The time has been flying by! I can't believe Christmas is already here. This Christmas has been really slim since hubby retired and still looking for work. The kids used to be so spoiled and now they only have a couple of presents, but hopefully they understand.

I have been crazy busy with the some holiday swaps and my daughter had her baby. I am watching both kids now and the baby is a handful. It has been a long time since I took care of a baby and my grandson is very clingy. I spend my days holding the baby and my grandson glued to my other side. lol I am not complaining. I miss the days when my kids needed and wanted to be around. Now they are grown and have there own things going on. My youngest is about to turn 12 and thinks he is 18. They grow up fast.

Wow, the time has flown by. I had joined the Pickled Pepper Patch's Secret Sister Swap. Every month, we sent our secret sister a package. The year is over and the secret is revealed. Thank you Natalie for the wonderful packages. I just received a lovely package today with a tin with yummy marshmallow cakes in them. Also she sent a wall hanging and pillow. Love them so much! This swap was alot of fun. It has been a busy time for everyone and surprise packages are always fun to receive!

Railroad Festival

The Railroad Festival is this weekend so we are heading to Appomattox tomorrow. The kids are excited. My youngest thinks he is such a salesman. lol Last year he wanted an Iron Man toy. I wanted what he wants out of it this year. I am afraid. lol I would love to take some pictures but my camera charger has not appeared. I ordered a new one, but it isn't here yet. That really stinks. Maybe my mom will take a camera.

The baby is taking a nap now and it is so quiet. Going to catch up on some tv!

Candle Time

I spent my weekend making tarts. I am out of jars so I have to wait until Monday for those. I have decided after the Railroad Festival, I am going to switch jars and labels. So there will be a huge candle clearance sale on my website. I finally got an inventory done over the weekend. Hopefully I can keep track of what I sell at the festival so I don't have to do that again! I will have my jelly jar candles on sale for $5 each November 1 on my website. It is time for that site to get moving . It has been long enough. I love making candles and want others to enjoy them as well. I was only going to try to make tarts for the festival but my aunt says people have been asking about the candles so I am going to make some more of those. I have quite a few already made.

I am finishing up some angels that I made from a pattern from Bittersweet Folkart. I love how they turned out. I usually don't sell many dolls there, but I will add them to my site if they don't sell. There is one woman who buys an Annie every year so I need to make a couple more of those. So many things to do and so little time!

Perfect Weather

Well the weather was 95 degrees one day and now it is in the 60's. Finally some cool fall weather. I love it. I am in the crafting mood. Which is good since the Railroad Festival is weeks away. Next weekend I am making tarts. It has been too hot to make them. Today I am going to pull out my stuff and see what I need. I don't remember where I put the clamshell containers so I hope I find them.

I am just finished the dolls below. I wish I could show you the ones I made but I can't find my camera charger! Guess I will have to find another one on ebay. The pattern is from Threadbare Primitives. I think mine came out pretty close to hers. Susan has the best patterns. Her link is

I can't believe it has been 10 years since that horrible day. I remember everything that happened like it was yesterday. I used to take our freedom and life for granted, but that day changed everything for me. Life can be taken away in a second without warning so I am going to try and enjoy it as much as I can. I am grateful for my four healthy children, wonderful grandson, my parents, and my future granddaughter. Times may be hard financially, but I still have my family. Cherish every moment.

Where have all the good handmade swaps gone? I guess everyone is busy with other things. I used to join all swaps, but now prefer the handmade ones. I love getting that sewing machine out and making for others. Looking for new patterns and meeting new friends.

So I have been browsing the new Halloween patterns on Patternmart and various websites. There are so many things I want to make. I bought a pumpkin pattern last year that I really want to make. I can't buy as much now since hubby is retired. So I am going to get out that Halloween and fall patterns and get busy. I did buy some patterns from Threadbare Primitives. They are a little different than I am used to but they look like fun! What are you working on?

School Has Started!

Yipee, I know that sounds bad. lol But I am so ready for the summer to be over. Now if we can get fall weather. My youngest started 6th grade. His last year in elementary school. That makes me sad. His older sister is in 10th grade this. I am so grateful she passed 9th grade. lol She said she is going to try and get better grades this year. I really hope so. Of course, the school drama has already started. I am still watching my grandson and having a blast with him. My oldest daughter is having a girl due in November. I will be watching that one also. So I better get some crafting done before then. I have been having such a hard time to get in the crafting mood. But once I start, I don't want to stop. My daughter is off from work Thursday and Friday and the weekend my grandson will be with his dad. I plan on making my tarts for the Railroad Festival. I swear I am going to get that website going. lol It has been sitting there empty for over a year. Going to surf some blogs to get myself motivated!

Oh Irene

.The sun is shining and it is so hot and calm. But the grocery store is another matter! lol I make my grocery trips on Friday and this one happened to coincide with Hurricane Irene. The shelves are empty. Good thing I have a ton of candles! We haven't had a major hurricane since Isabel and we were two weeks without power for that one. I hope we keep power. We haven't been told to evacuate yet but I am sure that is coming soon. I need to round up all my outside cats and get them inside. They will love that! Hope everyone on the east coast is ready and stay safe!

Baseball is over!

Wow, the baseball season flew by. My youngest finished up all stars last night and now it is relaxing time! They didn't do so well, but he did awesome. He pitched the last inning to get them done, and he did pretty good. I think I will try to find a private pitching coach if it isn't too expensive. My oldest daughter saw one for a little while and it made her so much better and she was already good.

Anyway, I got my house clean today so hopefully tomorrow, I can do nothing. lol I don't have the baby tomorrow so we are going to see Transformers 3. There are so many movies out that I want to see. I really want to see Super 8 and Horrible Bosses.

Well, off to catch up on some tv.

I am still here. The wedding is finally over. I woke up the morning of the reception really sick with a sore throat. I made it through the day, but for the next week, I couldn't really do anything. I never get sick, but of course at that moment I did. lol It was hard to recover, then the next week, I felt pressure in my chest. Went to the er, and my blood pressure was stroke level. That was so scary. I haven't never really taken care of myself because I thought it was ok that I didn't get sick. Luckily, I didn't have any heart damage. So they gave me blood pressure medicine. I feel alot better. I have more energy. Scared myself into hopefully doing a better job of being healthy. I could really lose some weight. I feel like I have. I am drinking more water, not adding salt. Small baby steps. Now I need to get busy with some sewing. It is too hot to go outside. It has been in the 90's for a month now. This summer is going to be miserable.

My son is almost done with the regular season of baseball, then it will be all star time. I love watching him play baseball. He has had a great year. He finally was allowed to pitch and now he is pitching all the time. lol The same thing happened to his brother. His older brother always wanted to pitch but because he was needed as the shortstop, he never got to. Then they let him and he pitched all the time. I really miss my oldest playing. He was good enough to play college and maybe higher, but he didn't want to go to school! Broke my heart. But he got his GED and is now at the shipyard making great money as a welder.

Well, I am off to clean the house. It is a wreck! lol My washing machine and big freezer died the same week. The washer will be here next week. I need it now! Stay cool.

It's a Hot One!

Today is going to be 85 degrees! I was wishing for Spring but now it feels like Summer! lol Just can't win. I've been busy planning my oldest daughter's wedding reception. If anyone has some good appetizer recipes, please share. The kids are on Spring Break. So now I have a house full of kids and my grandson. It seems like everyone of my youngest son's friends are always here. At least I know what they are up to. Our house always seem to be the gathering spot for all my kids' friends. On the weekends, we are fighting for parking in front of the house because of all the cars. lol I am sure the neighbors love that. My youngest and his friends are cleaning the garage and making it into a clubhouse. That garage has been a clubhouse so many times. We had to put a stop to it years ago when my oldest son and daughter got into it and my son locked his sister in the garage. She was beating on the door, and her arm ending up going through the window. Getting stitches was not fun. So hopefully, this time it will be a better experience!

Well, I am off to take my grandson down the street to the beach. Hopefully, it wear him out a little bit!

The sun is trying to peek out. It is always so rainy in April. My youngest started his baseball season. Unfortunately, the lack of practice due to rain is showing. Hopefully, they can win a couple of games this season. lol The year before last, they won one game at the end of the season! lol

My daughter has picked a wedding date already. It will be May 21. She seems excited. It will be a small wedding, nothing big. I wish we could really help financially, but since my husband retired, money has been extremely tight. This weekend, I am going to go through all my candles and get my website up. I know it probably will be hard to sell them with the economy but I won't know until I try. People seem to really like them so if I can just get started.

Well, I found out that my daughter is pregnant once again. She was planning on moving out next year and getting married. Guess that just got fast tracked. Now the baby will be a big brother. I don't know how his is going to handle that. So I guess I will be watching two babies. I am too young to be a grandmother again. lol The baby has been super busy lately getting into everything so I have had a hard time getting anything done. I am have finished a bunny swap and am finishing up a spring swap. I love making things, I just don't seem to have the time and when I do, I just can't get motivated. The weather is wonderful and my son has started baseball so that is taking all my afternoons. But I wouldn't change it for anything. When all four of my kids were playing, we were so busy, but I really miss seeing them play. So I am now enjoying my youngest while it lasts. Well off to do some crafting!

Look What Hubby Found!

My husband was working on a house and found these old sewing needles. It was really hard to find any information on the company but found out that it was started in 1874 as a coal and lumber company that worked with the city of Norfolk. And that is all I could find. Guess local history hasn't made it to the internet yet. Thought these were a cool find. It still has needles in it.

The baby is gone to his father's this weekend so I have some time to sew and I am in the mood! lol I am working on some bunnies for some swaps. Just painted them. One more bunny to make. It is pretty nice outside. Baseball starts next week so we will be busy everyday. I can't wait until it gets a little warmer though. My cat had two babies. They are adorable. Here is a picture of them. Kinda hard when momma cat kept getting in the way. She wants all the attention for herself!

Off to make some pork roast for dinner. Hubby will be happy when he gets home.

I have been so bad about posting in the last six months. Watching the baby is hard work. He is constantly into things. Today he has been a little monster. When he finally takes a nap, I try to get some crafting done or watch some tv. Thank goodness, I have tomorrow and Sunday off. Hopefully the hubby will have some work to do tomorrow. It is baseball season time. I am so glad. I love being outside. The weather seems to warming up finally. It is 51 today and feels better good. Well, that is what is going on with me. Exciting! lol

Well, as you can see today I am catching up on posting. I haven't really been in a posting mood for awhile. Hubby has retired and things have been tough. He seems to think he can make a living working for himself and it is not working out! I wish he would just try and get a regular job. I am so tired of being broke. But I will let it go for a little while but then I am going to have to light a fire under his butt! Ok, enough complaining.

The good thing is I have a ton of fabric and craft supplies. lol So I don't need to worry about running out of those. Being a fabric hoarder has come in handy. I have a couple of handmade Spring swaps coming up. I love sewing, that really relaxes me. I really need to start now for the Railroad Festival. I know, I keep saying that. lol I can't bring myself to start making fall and Christmas items yet.

I am so tired of this cold weather. I don't even want to step foot outside. It is 48 today so it is better. I would never survive in the North. lol I have been making some things for a couple of swaps I joined. I am determined to start making things for the railroad festival now so I will have a bigger inventory next holiday season and maybe do some local shows. I really need to get my website going. I am going to go through my candles and see what scents I have and what I need to make. That should keep me busy. I can't believe it is time to sign up for baseball already. Time is flying by. Snowed In!

I am going stir crazy. I have been stuck in the house for days. We really don't get much snow here in VA but this time, it really buried us. It is so pretty but so inconvenient. My grandson is driving me crazy. lol I knew I should have gotten some sewing done over the weekend when he was gone. I am ready to get busy again. My youngest got plenty of video games to keep him busy. He goes in and out all day, coming home soaking wet and freezing. The plays games, then goes back out. I have been taking my oldest daughter to work at Wawa because she has a small Honda that has no business being on the road. Can't believe how many idiots are out there driving. Think I will make a ham for dinner. I was saving it for a cold day, and it is certainly cold enough today!

I know I am a day early. Figured I'd post while I felt like it. lol I haven't been posting much in the past few months. It has been a very stressful year. Things are alot better know but I think I am still recuperating. There are so many things I wish I had gotten done. I better start now so I can do them next year. I am going to the big craft show Friday. I would love to do it next year but I don't know how expensive it is and I need alot more stuff! Hubby finally retires next week. Things are very uncertain jobwise so that is bothering me a little.
I haven't joined many swaps lately. I love to do them, but I have been getting flaked on more and more. That is so disappointing. There is one blogger's swaps that I love to join, but I have been flaked on the last two times. I am sticking to handmade items because they tend to be more successful swaps.

Appomattox Railroad Festival

The festival is over. I can't believe it came and went so fast. I am so tired. My hubby retired the week before I was tired before we even left! lol I did better this year at the festival than last year. I got tart burners this year to sell and I think that really sold the tarts. Last year, I hardly sold any tarts. This year I had a display rack to make them easier to look at also. I sold only one Annie. I am a little disappointed in that. I wanted to move away from candles and focus on other things like Annies, but I guess that isn't a good idea. Everybody loves candles, especially me! It was good to see my family that I don't see much. Now I am trying to get back into the swing of things! I need to get busy making some Christmas ornaments. I would like to do some small local shows, but I am sharing a vehicle with my son and he works Saturdays. That stinks. Hopefully, he will get a car soon. Well, off to catch up on some tv!

Where is the Sun??

It has rained all week. Finally it is cooler weather. Not cool enough though. I love cool, crisp days. I have been working like crazy to finish my things for the Railroad Festival. It is next weekend. I can't believe it is time already! I finished my Annies finally. Got some scarecrows done. The candles have been done for a few weeks. I am going to make some quick crib quilts and some small Annies and I will be done. The baby is going to stay with his dad for a week. He is leaving tonight. I am going to miss him so bad but next week is a busy week with my hubby retiring so I won't be able to watch him, then we will be gone the weekend. I am sure the week will go by fast. I will be able to get the house cleaned before I go. I love to come home to a clean house. My oldest two will be home but they better keep it clean! I have been watching the Real Housewives of Orange County during the afternoons, and everytime they leave their kids throw a party. I am paranoid now. lol

The Railroad Festival in Appomattox is weeks away and I am going crazy trying to get things done. I am making my candles this weekend. I have quite a few already made by have to replace the most popular ones and wanted to try some new ones. My cat and I have been fighting over the table. She is determined to put her big butt on my candles. lol I have Annies to finish. The baby is gone this weekend with his father so I can finally get something done. It is so hard to do anything with him hanging on me. It is impossible to clean until his mother gets home from work. It has been a long time since my kids were babies!

Goodbye Pepper

A few months ago, our cat had kittens with deformaties. One of them died and Pepper was adopted by one of our inside cats. Her mother likes to stay outside and got pregnant a couple of times before we were finally able to keep her in long enough to get spayed. Pepper's back legs were about two inches long. She mainly scooted around. One day she started walking with her two back legs straight up in the air. Looked crazy, then we noticed her back leg was a bloody mess from her using it. We took her to the vet and they recommended that she be put down. I wanted to do that the minute we found her, but my husband talked me out of it. My kids are devastated. She was such a cool kitten and our other cat loved her like her own. I know it was the right thing to do, because even though she could walk on two feet, when she got bigger it would be hard on her front legs. I feel so sad right now.

Baseball is officially over. My youngest had a great all star season. They finished third. They did so well. Now it is time to finish my craft room. So many ideas of things I want to make. I just have two cabinets for my fabric to put together and I am done! We hired some neighborhood guy to put them together. He struggled with the bookcase and put it together wrong! I put three of those bookcases together myself. lol He is not touching my cabinets!

It's Been So Long

I have been really bad at posting.The baby keeps me so busy. I have my craft room half finished. I didn't start on it until yesterday because it has been in the 100's. Too hot to do anything! We really need to get our central air fixed. The window unit just can't keep up. The temperature dropped some so it is bearable. Iwish I could snap my fingers and the room would be done.lol I can't wait until it is organized and I can sew!

Time has flown by. It has been so long since I posted. I have been busy with baseball season. That just ended. Time for baseball all stars. My oldest son moved out. I am going to get paint today and start painting his room so my daughter and baby can move in there. It is twice the size of the room they are in now. The baby got a toddler bed, he is sleeping pretty good in there. But he keeps going to his mom's bed. lol Payback. I am watching the baby everyday while his parents work. He is a handful. I am exhausted when he takes his nap. It has been 9 years since I had a toddler to deal with. Seems like forever.
We just got rid of 11 kittens. They were everywhere! I am so glad they are gone now. We took them to a pet store so hopefully, they will go to good homes. I got all my cats fixed so no more kittens! I love them but they made a huge mess and were always into something.
The best thing of all is I finally get my craft room! When my daughter moves into my son's room, I will finally have a room! I just have to paint it and get new blinds. I can't wait. Any ideas on colors? I am thinking a cheery yellow?

It's Been Awhile

I didn't realize I hadn't posted in so long. Not much has been going on here. I have been busy with my youngest playing baseball. He is having a great season. My youngest daughter is an emotional teenager driving me crazy! The baby has been into everything. I am finishing up some swaps that I joined awhile back. I haven't joined any lately. I have been in a crafting slump. Too tired to do anything. So here I am at the last minute finishing up some dolls for swaps.

It's Official

Baseball season is here. The season started a few weeks late because of poor registration turnout. Sadly, not as many kids are playing sports because of video games. And more seem to play soccer than baseball/softball. Now the city wants to tear down the ballfields for a hotel and office buildings. How stupid is that. The last thing this city needs is another hotel. The other one they built is losing money.

Anyway, my youngest is the only one playing baseball this year. My two older kids are too old. I really miss watching them play because they were so good and it was alot of fun to watch. My other daughter didn't want to play this year because she was on the worst team ever created last year. lol I am not exaggerating. It took alot of fun out of it. My husband always coached my youngest until this year. He is 10 and it is his second year in the Major League (9-12)We had the first game Saturday and he only played two of of seven innings. I was not happy. He has been doing really well and been to every practice. He has a really good attitude, I don't know what the coach seems to have against him. They ending up tying the game. We played an extra inning but it ended up tying again. lol

Last night, they played a really good team but ended up tying again! Crazy! And my youngest got to play second base because the second baseman was pitching. He did a really good job and got some outs. Then his first bat, he hit a homerun! That got the team ahead. I can't believe my little one hit that ball. Then at the end of the game, the other team was ahead by one and my youngest hit the ball to the fence again and got a double. He tied the game up. Then it was too dark to finish. Another tie. lol It is an improvement. Last year, they won one game at the end of the season! My son is so happy. He said he was happy his team was proud of him. I am so glad that he realizes that it takes a team.

I love Spring, but I hate the pollen that goes with it. Every car in our area is yellow! lol My oldest son can't even go outside because his allergies are so bad. Last year he found out he was allergic to grass. Crazy! Of course, guess who can't cut the grass now. I know it breaks his heart. lol

Smells like Candles!

Well, I have a ton of candles already made but people keep ordering Clean Cotton and LoveSpell! lol I just made a new batch of each for some customers at my mom's work. I am grateful for the orders, but I have so many other candles. I need to get my website set up so I can try to sell some there. I am about to start my Alice in Wonderland doll for a swap. I also have to make a cat and an americana doll. Then I can start my quilts! I keep saying that and putting them off for all kinds of reasons. It is going to be 91 degrees here today. It is going to be a miserable summer. I don't know what the deal is with the crazy weather. We got a ton of snow, now it is in the 90's in April!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter today. I only have two getting Easter baskets this year. This is the first year that the baby will be getting one. He is going to be in heaven! He loves Veggie Tales and he got all kinds of Veggie Tales candy. I got him a baseball easter basket since he loves balls so much. We will having a nice Easter dinner this afternoon. My daughter started working at Wawa a few weeks ago, and she is still at Blockbuster. She has two hours in between jobs. I don't know how she does it. I know she is exhausted. Her fiance stays at home with the baby since he lost his job. Hope he finds another one soon, but then I will be watching the baby. He is a handful. So I guess I better enjoy my freedom while I can. lol

For the past week, Romeo has woke me up at 3 am with his meowing! He meows and gets into things he isn't supposed to. I can hear him on my sewing desk, where he knows he is not allowed! Then I am so aggravated, I can't go back to sleep. I have tried locking him out of my room, then he scratches at the door. I squirt him with water, but he keeps coming back. I wake him all day, because he is tired and can sleep! lol What am I going to do?? Notice, he can't open his eyes, he is too tired!!

Oscar Night

This year I actually watched the entire Oscar telecast. This was such a good year for movies. The Hurt Locker was one of my favorite movies. My daughter works at Blockbuster so we got to see Precious and Up in the Air already on DVD. They were great movies. Precious was so hard to watch but it is worth watching. It is hard to think that people really live like that and worse. I love George Clooney, so I knew I would love Up in the Air. We went to the movies Friday and say Avatar. Sadly, we missed seeing it in 3D, but the movie was fantastic! It was one of the prettiest movies I have ever seen, and I am not usually into that kind of stuff. I really didn't want to see it, but I am glad that I did.
One of my cats had kittens, she got pregnant before I got my male cat fixed. I thought I separated them, but I guess not fast enough! lol I got stuck with four kittens last year after a cat had kittens in my garage. They were too big to go to a pet store and the humane society was too full, after trying for months! So I now have seven cats! Crazy. These kittens will go to a pet store as soon as they are old enough, but I love having kittens around!

Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival

My mom and I went to the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival Saturday. It was so much fun. But I was exhausted when I got home. There were so many beautiful quilts! I wish I had taken my camera. And I was in fabric heaven! I got a baseball quilt kit to make my youngest. I was going to make a pirate quilt but he is getting a little too old for that. So I will make that for the baby. My youngest turned 10 yesterday. He told me in two years, he will hitting puberty! lol You never know what is coming out of his mouth.

It really snowed!

We actually got some real snow. It hasn't really snowed here since 2002. Last year, they closed schools because of a big snowstorm that never came. The kids stayed home on a sunny day. lol So this time, I ignored the weather and they were actually right. I woke up this morning to lots of snow and it is still snowing. Of course Blockbuster is open, so I had to take my daughter to work. I slid through a couple of stoplights but it wasn't too bad. They haven't cleared the roads at all. Blockbuster is next door to Food Lion and they were packed! Blockbuster is closing at 6, so hopefully it won't be too bad picking her up. I don't want to be on a dark, icy road. Today I am going to work on my quilt block. I joined a block of the month at the quilt shop. I need to finish January's block so I get February's next week. Then I am going to get busy making some Annies to put on my site and for the fall shows. I am going to be prepared this year.

Everyone knows each other and it is a great community. Eight people were killed there yesterday. It happened right down the street from my aunt's house and they are all devastated. I really hate cold weather. Last month is was so nice and now I am freezing. It is in the 20's. I know some people would love to have it that warm. lol I love sunny 70's weather. I have gotten back to crafting. I made a couple of Valentine items. I would love to show them, but they are for some swaps and I don't want to spoil the surprise! I started my mouse for the Mouse swap. I was almost done, then decide I didn't like the head. So now it has no head! Don't worry Sandy, it will have a head when you get it. lol
Hubby is doing so much better. He is back at work and now I can finally get this house clean again. But I'd rather be doing other things. I had the house really clean when he came home from the hospital but haven't gotten much done since he got home because he is always in the living room. So today it is sparkling clean. I got the Christmas decorations down yesterday. I had so much help from the cats!

Big Turnaround

Well, my hubby is home and things are great. He doing so much better. I have been looking around at Valentine patterns. I am ready to start crafting next week and getting ready for some Valentine swaps! The baby is sick with croup. Poor baby sounds awful. My youngest got his head cracked open yesterday. A girl threw a brick at him. Don't think she realized the damage she would do. It was bleeding pretty good, but he didn't need stitches thank goodness!

I can't believe Christmas is here already. This year has flown by. My hubby is supposed to be coming home today so hopefully it will be a stress free holiday. Yeah right, lol. He has been in the hospital for three weeks, so we will probably fight like crazy before getting back into the swing of things. I just have to remember, patience! That is not my strongest trait. I am grateful he is alive and I need to focus on that.
The presents are all wrapped. I spent the last two days making fudge, cookies, and candy covered pretzels. My youngest is the only one who seems excited about Christmas. He is getting something he has wanted for a long time so he will be in heaven tomorrow! My oldest daughter and her boyfriend split up last week and she has been really quiet and sad. Maybe the baby will cheer her up tomorrow. Hopefully, they work things out but I don't want her to think she has to stay with him because of the baby. They are both young and immature. Maybe in time, things will change.
My oldest son broke up with his girlfriend of a year. He just didn't want a girlfriend. I feel so bad for her because she seemed to really like him and put up with him, which isn't easy.
My other daughter just has the usual teenage drama, nothing major.
So there is all that's going on here and that all happened in the past week!

Getting Better

Just a little update on my hubby, things are alot better now. He should be home from the hospital next week in time for Christmas. I am so tired of the drama in my life. I would just love to have a boring life! lol I did get a new sewing table a few days ago so I am going to spend my day putting that together. Then I need to finish my Christmas swaps up. Then I will done with those for the year. I need to make some things for my family for Christmas so I will be cramming that into next week. Then the sewing machine is getting a little vacation for a week. My fabric is already overflowing from my cabinet that I just got. I don't have a spot for another one so I need to think of something to do about that. I really need my own craft room but the kids are not headed anywhere. lol Thank goodness, my bedroom is huge. It used to be a garage so it is twice the size of a regular bedroom but I have so much stuff. Hubby wants to move but I don't think we can find another house big enough that we can afford and I have to have room for sewing. Off to put together my desk and catch up on some tv. My DVR is overflowing!

Life Gets Rough

Things have been so rough the past couple of days. My hubby is in the hospital with possible renal failure. I am trying so hard to keep things together for my kids and shield them from things. I haven't been able to sew for a few days and that is what really relaxes me. I think I will make time to do that tonight. My kids need their dad. My youngest worships him. He told me this morning that he really missed him and felt lonely. I have tried to keep him busy, but he is a daddy's boy. I have no idea what to do if things take a turn for the worst. The baby is here hanging on my leg trying to get the computer mouse. He always cheers me up. I usually don't get so personal on this blog because you never really know who reads it. It just feels good to let a little of those feelings out.
I am behind on a couple of swaps. I will really try and finish those and get them out Monday. Sorry for that.

I bought a cabinet and tried to organize my fabric. I have tried so many different ways and think I have finally won! lol But I still need another cabinet for my holiday fabrics. It was so hard to see the fabric in the storage containers and it was always a mess. Hope this works! It still could be neater, but it is so much better.

Almost Over

Well, I can finally drive down my street now without floating away. They finally allowed my daughter to close the store at 8 and by then I couldn't even get to the store. She had to walk a block in waist deep water. She was not happy. It was a nightmare. Had to drive all around just to get home again. While I was waiting for here, the tow trucks were busy towing cars out of the flooded street. Now we are only having scattered showers. I am so tired of this rain. School was cancelled again. The post office is even closed. We went for a walk during a brief moment of no rain. The neighborhood is a mess. They have been cleaning it all day, but there is alot to do. The sheriff's dept showed up with some inmates to help. Hopefully, tomorrow there will be sunshine!

I am finally feeling better. I have had an cold for the past week and a half. I have so many things to finish. I am finishing up some ornies. Today is the perfect day to do it. We have had the nastiest weather for the past two days. We are in the middle of a Nor'easter from Hurricane Ida. We seem to be getting the brunt of it. School was cancelled, the tunnel is closed, traffic is a nightmare. My daughter just informed me I have to watch the baby because nobody else can make it into work at Blockbuster. My oldest son works at Walmart and when he came home last night, his feet were shriveled! He works in the parking lot, and he has to work today also. It is supposed to be worse later. Below are some pics of the neighborhood.

I still need to my youngest his costume. It is getting harder to find good costumes. Everything looks the same. My daughter wants to take the baby trick or treating so she can get some candy. She claims he can eat some. He is not going to like the costumes. My youngest was terrifed of masks the first time he went out. The other kids would take off their masks when they saw him. That was very nice of them because they didn't have to do that. We didn't know them.

I finally got a new sewing machine. I am soooo happy! I was smacking my old one everytime I used it. lol The instructions on my new one say not to hit it or drop it. Haha. This machine knew I was coming. I love it. It is electronic and has alot of different stitches and it didn't cost a ton. I was going to get a Kenmore, but then I found a Brother for the same price that was electronic. I was hesitant because my old one is a Brother, but it was about 15 years old. I am so happy with the new one and can't wait to get started on Christmas ornies!

Railroad Festival

Well, the festival is finally over. We did ok, could have been better. The economy is slowly picking up. Going to do some local craft shows to get rid of the rest of the inventory. Where has time gone?

It seems like the days are flying by. I have been planning on doing a fall festival since March and now it is a month away. I have so much to do! I am going to pick up my candle wax next week. Thank goodness I found a place four hours away in North Carolina to get the wax. That saves alot on shipping. I have been busy making air fresheners, sink fresh, and potpourri. I have alot of Annie patterns cut out that need to be stuffed. I am going to do my lotions tonight. The kids started school this week so that keeps half of them occupied during the day. My oldest son is trying to decide what he is going to do with his life. I hope he figures it out soon. Hubby is retiring so he is always home. And of course, my daughter and baby. I miss the peaceful days!

I finally have my computer connected to the internet again. Now I can't get my son's to work in his room. I am so frustrated with it. He is getting a signal but too weak to work. The heat is back here and it so muggy. My router quit working so I am on my son's computer. He is not pleased. lol I have been busy finishing up some things I have been making. When I get my computer back, I will post some pics. My daughter is walking on air about going to the state tournament. To think, she didn't want to play at first! Really nothing has been going on. I should be happy that it is so quiet. The baby has been busy getting into everything. He does everything but walk! lol He is 10 months old now. My daughter's softball team won the Senior Girls Softball district championship last night and now going to the state tournament so softball is not over! We have been so busy for months with ball. I thought it was over. lol But in the last inning they came back, got 5 runs and won 5-4. My daughter is actually getting playing time now and she is having so much fun. I told her that is what happens when you stick it out. Her team during the regular season was so bad, she'd rather go to the dentist then a game. She stuck it out to play allstars which has been worth it. Now she gets to go and actually play. Her older sister went twice and had a blast. She is so excited and I am so happy for those girls. They fought hard!

Early Monday

I was planning on sleeping in. Didn't work out that way. I didn't realize it has been so long since I last posted! I have been feeling miserable the past week. The week started off with my son having another allergic reaction. We don't know for sure what is causing it but is appears to be grass. My mouth started hurting around Tuesday. I thought it was a toothache but it turned out to be TMJ. It has been killing me and there is nothing to do about it except take Aleve. I was told I had TMJ in my 20's but never had a problem before. I hope this is the only flare up I have. It is so painful. I am going to finish some things I have started working on this weekend. So far, I feel ok thank goodness.

Sunny Sunday

Wow, it is cooler day today but it is still hot. The weekend is flying by and I still have to make some things to finish up some swaps. I only join a few a month but it seems like they are all due at one time. At least I will have a happy mailbox. lol
I spent Friday night at the ER with my oldest son. He had an allergic reaction to something. He didn't eat anything different that he doesn't eat all the time. He spent the night at his friends house in VA Beach and woke up like that. He is at his house all the time so it shouldn't have been anything there. He didn't come home until 5pm and said he needed to go to the hospital. I almost threw up when I saw how bad he looked. I can't believe he waited so long. He took Benadryl and went to sleep until the afternoon. Then he finally decided to let me know. The hospital told him how dangerous that was. We were there about four hours. The people in the waiting room were not happy that he went right in, but he looked terrible! They gave him a bunch of fluids and IV medications. We got a steriod prescription and came home. He looked alot better when he woke up. He was more angry about his ruined weekend. lol Today, he is back at his friends so he is feeling better.
So that has been my fun weekend!
